NICK TIMOTHY MP: Working for YOU to have a greater say over road safety
Nick's petition states that the local government reorganisation process should result in more power being given to parish councils to take action on road safety concerns.
With the Government reorganising local councils, and Suffolk moving to a unitary model, Nick Timothy MP thinks it is important we make sure local communities get stronger powers to decide things for themselves.
And in so many villages across West Suffolk residents have told him they are frustrated by their inability to change speed limits or have traffic-calming measures and speed cameras established where they know there are problems with speeding cars and trucks.
This is why Nick is calling for parish and town councils to have the freedom and financial power to:
· Change speed limits
· Erect suitable signs
· Introduce traffic-calming measures
· Establish speed cameras
