You are invited to participate in a research study that is being conducted by Hal Grossman at Hunter College and Melissa Gasparotto at Rutgers University. The purpose of this research is to explore how academic librarians use content management systems such as LibGuides, Library a la Carte and Drupal to create research guides, and to explore how these guides are used in and out of the classroom environment. The results of this study may enhance our understanding of how LibGuides and similar tools are used in student learning.

Approximately 200-400 individuals are expected to participate in this study. Each participant will complete this survey.

This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

This research is anonymous. There are no foreseeable risks to participation in this study. There are no direct benefits to participating in this study. However, participation may increase general knowledge of how academic librarians use LibGuides and similar tools in student learning. Participation in this study involves no costs to you. The data obtained from you will be collected via SurveyMonkey, an online survey management program. The collected data will be accessible to the principal investigators, their research assistants, and Human Research Protection Program or Institutional Review Board at each of the principal investigators' institutions. The researchers will protect your confidentiality by refraining from collecting any data that would identify you or your internet address. The collected data will be stored on a password-protected section of the SurveyMonkey web server, and on computers accessible to the researchers. In accordance with federal regulations, data from this survey will be stored for at least three (3) years.

Participation in this study is voluntary. You may choose not to participate, and you may withdraw at any time during the study procedures without any penalty to you. By submitting answers to this survey, you indicate your consent to our use of those answers in our research.
