Five Rivers Miyawaki Forest Planting - Volunteer Registration Form |
Help your community build climate resiliency and enhance a local wildlife habitat with the planting of the first pocket forest in the Capital Region. By densely planting native trees and shrubs in a small plot, a pocket forest (also known as a Miyawaki forest) rapidly restores plant diversity and supports wildlife in damaged ecosystems. Bring yourself, friends, and family to help us transform a field of invasive species into a rich micro-forest.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is set to plant its first pocket forest at Five Rivers Environmental Education Center in the spring of 2025. Sign up below to join us!
We gratefully acknowledge the AT&T Foundation for financial support for this project through a grant to Friends of Five Rivers.
