Introduction

The National Poisoning Prevention Council (formerly known as the National Poison Prevention Week Council) is seeking a logo design to reflect its new name, and its new mission:   

Unintentional poisoning from a wide variety of substances and environmental hazards can happen to anyone, and represents a substantial public health burden in the U.S.  The National Poisoning Prevention Council is an inclusive community comprised of representatives from the public, nonprofit, and government organizations with a shared commitment to poisoning prevention and education.  The Council provides a collective voice to raise awareness among the American public about the risks, frequency, and consequences of unintentional poisoning occurrences, injuries, and fatalities.

The Council promotes poisoning prevention by:
1)  Educating Americans of all ages about the risks of poisoning
2)  Amplifying the poisoning prevention efforts of Council members
3)  Sponsoring National Poison Prevention Week, the 3rd full week of March each year

ABOUT THE COUNCIL
The National Poisoning Prevention Council (“the Council”) is a group of representatives from government and nonprofit organizations that have an interest in the prevention of unintentional poisoning through raising awareness and promoting poisoning prevention public education. The Council is the official sponsor of National Poisoning Prevention Week, the third full week of March each year.  For more information about the Council, its members, and its activities, please visit www.poisonprevention.org.
