We will return to in-person programming for the 2023 Poetry Out Loud Semifinal and State Final competitions. In addition to the live/in-person Semifinals, we are offering schools the alternative to participate in a virtual Semifinal (students will be asked to submit video recordings of their performances). We are offering a limited number of FREE Poetry Out Loud workshops, led by teaching artists from Teachers & Writers Collaborative, on a first come, first served basis. These workshops are a great way to engage students and get them excited about their POL poetry performances. In the workshops, students use writing as a tool to analyze and connect more deeply with their POL poems and get tips and advice for improving their recitations.
