Horsham District Council has engaged Coast to Capital to support the establishment of the RMTEA, including advising on the programme and helping to recruit suitable Board members. Applications will therefore be forwarded to C2C so they can assist with assessing suitability and coordinating next steps.

Annex – Board Member Role Profiles

Business Representative Board Member (5 positions)
Each of the five main areas of South Horsham shall be represented through a business representative Board Member.
Essential skills:
  • Willingness to engage with multiple businesses within the area to understand their needs and also to feedback to them on the actions of the RMTEA.
  • Business owner or someone with significant experience of running a business.
  • Ability and willingness to provide the time to undertake the role.
  • Excellent team player able to demonstrate a passion and keen interest in supporting local businesses.
Board Member for Governance (1 position)
Essential skills:
  • Experience of having been a non-executive director.
  • Understanding of company governance.
  • Experience of not for profit organisations and public accountability.
  • Ability and willingness to provide the time to undertake the role.
  • Excellent team player able to demonstrate a passion and keen interest in supporting local businesses.

Board Member for Project Management (1 position)
Essential skills:
  • Experience of successful project management and oversight.
  • Project delivery track record.
  • Experience of successfully leading teams.
  • Ability and willingness to provide the time to undertake the role.
  • Excellent team player able to demonstrate a passion and keen interest in supporting local businesses.

Board Member for Financial Management (1 position)
Essential skills:
  • Demonstrable financial management experience.
  • Good understanding of company accounting.
