The Disability Royal Commission wants the Australian Government to phase out supported employment. Let us know what you think about this.
Our Voice Australia (OVA) invites you to complete this 15-minute survey to share your views on the recommendations from the Disability Royal Commission and the Australian Government's next steps for supported employment.
What were the recommendations from the Disability Royal Commission?
The Disability Royal Commission recommended that the Australian Government:
The Disability Royal Commission recommended that the Australian Government:
| Raise subminimum wages so that everyone is paid at least half the minimum wage. |
| Phase out segregated workplaces and sub-minimum wages by 2034. Segregated workplaces are those designed specifically for people with disability, separate to people without disability. These workplaces used to be called Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs) and are now referred to as supported employment. |
Phasing out supported worksites and wages would have a significant impact on employees, their jobs and workplaces. That’s why OVA wants to hear from you. We want to make sure your voices are heard when the Australian Government decides whether it will make these recommendations happen or not.
More information on the Disability Royal Commission’s recommendations and government consultation process can be found here.
