NEFDC Conference Call for Proposals 

“Students as Partners in Learning Design”

Keynote by Alison Cook-Sather, PhD
Author of Engaging Students as Partners in Learning and Teaching: A Guide for Faculty
 
Dr. Cook-Sather is the Mary Katharine Woodworth Professor of Education and Director of the Peace, Conflict and Social Justice Students concentration at Bryn Mawr College and Director of the Teaching and Learning Institute at Bryn Mawr and Haverford College.

The New England Faculty Development Consortium welcomes proposals that are focused on the theme of how student-faculty and student-staff pedagogical partnerships can support both student and faculty learning.  We welcome student perspectives and collaborators, as well as proposals that demonstrate:
  • Changes in teaching resulting from students as partners
  • Strategies for engaging students in co-constructing the classroom environment
  • Creating engaging, equitable and inclusive environments for learning
  • Working with teaching assistants
  • Working with students on research projects
  • Strategies for fostering student engagement and belonging
  • Research co-conducted and co-authored with under-represented and under-served students
  • Academic engagement activities by faculty to increase persistence (in or out of class)
  • Interactive multi-modal instructional technology
  • Technology-enhanced strategies for engaging students as partners in the teaching and learning process

Proposals are due February 24, 2020.

Please only list presenters who will be attending the NEFDC conference. Should your proposal be accepted all presenters will be required to be registered by the early bird deadline for the presentation to be listed in the program.

While the list of authors may represent all contributors to the project, all presenters must register by the early bird date (one month prior to the conference) in order to confirm their place in the conference.
