The Section on Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (SODBP) is offering three scholarships for section members to attend the 2024 AAP Advocacy Conference, in-person, in Washington, D.C., from April 14-16, 2024! You must be a member of the SODBP to apply. Please note that the format of the conference is in-person only. The scholarship will cover the cost of conference registration and domestic airfare. Other costs associated with your travel and accommodations for the conference are not included.
Applicants are expected to identify an advocacy partner in their local area or institution who they currently partner with or anticipate partnering with in future advocacy efforts. Examples of advocacy partners include, but are certainly not limited to, AAP Chapters, state/local governmental organizations (eg, health departments), disability and family advocacy organizations (eg, Family Voices), or academic institutions or programs/centers within those institutions (eg, LEND programs).
Scholarship recipients will be connected with other SODBP members for support before, during and after the conference. Scholarship recipients will be required to submit a 300-word summary of their experience within 2 months of the conference for an upcoming SODBP newsletter. Applications will be considered based on their commitment to further advocacy efforts beyond the Advocacy Conference. Priority will be given to applicants who have never received a scholarship from the AAP, are trainees, and who describe a plan to work with their local partners for active collaborations after the conference.
Interested in applying?
Applications are due Friday, January 8, 2024.
