The Directors of Research and Evaluation (DRE) is a not-for-profit group of professionals who are responsible for directing research and evaluation in school districts across the United States and Canada. Originally founded as The Directors of Institutional Research, the group has been active for over 50 years.

As part of our mission, we are inventorying the research and evaluation capabilities of major school districts. That is why we need your help in answering the following questions. The survey should take about ten minutes to complete. We will provide you the results so you can benchmark your district to others.

In addition, we are creating a Directory of District-Based Research and Evaluation Specialists who are interested in collaborating and/or providing professional support to each other. At the end of the survey you will be given the opportunity to opt into this directory which will be posted on the DRE website, www.redirectors.org as a means for professionals with common interests and needs to contact each other.

We have added some assessment related items to this survey because a number of individuals, who are responsible for research and evaluation in their districts, may also have district assessment responsibilities.

DRE Directory project contacts are Donna Snodgrass, d.snodgrass@csuohio.edu, and Joe O’Reilly, joreilly@mpsaz.org
