SURVEY OVERVIEW

Note: At the end of this survey you will be able to qualify for a donation to your favorite non-profit working in education to employment!

***********************************************************

As an employer, you bring an invaluable perspective on what young people need to be successful and play a critical role in helping to identify, define and measure which skills are the most valuable. Innovate+Educate and Jobs for the Future are asking for your help in “unpacking” the meaning behind each of the following skills that employers, in general, have identified as critical to job success:

1. Critical Thinking
2. Working Collaboratively
3. Communicating Effectively
4. Knowing how to Learn

Our goal is to collect responses from employers across the country and then share these results both with employers as well as with educators (K-12 and post-secondary) to enable a conversation about what it would mean to more effectively teach these 'Deeper Learning' skills that will ultimately transfer to a work environment.

In this survey, we will be asking you mainly about CRITICAL THINKING There are a total of 15 questions and it should take you a maximum of 15 minutes to complete. We are asking for your opinions that will inform our work – no other staff are required to answer the questions.

The individual results of this survey will be kept confidential. If you choose to provide your name and email, at the end of the survey, you will receive:

1. An executive summary report of the results of the survey
2. A chance to win one of four $500 contributions to the charity of your choice

While this survey focuses specifically on how you define and assess EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION when hiring, we are also conducting similar surveys on working collaboratively, critical thinking and an individual’s ability to learn how to learn (self-motivated acquiring of information and self-knowledge).

If you are interested in one of these surveys as well, please email Jamai.Blivin@innovate-educate.org and request the survey.
