The QUAA Kingston Branch is seeking nominations for The Jim Bennett Achievement Award to recognize outstanding achievements in careers, sports, the arts or volunteer endeavours, contributing to the betterment of Queen’s and/or Kingston. Nominees must be members of the Kingston community, but not necessarily Queen’s graduates.

Inaugurated in 1993 as The Kingston Achievement Award, it was renamed The Jim Bennett Achievement Award in the year 2000 to commemorate the distinguished and dedicated service of the late Dr. Jim Bennett to Queen’s University and to the greater Kingston community.

The Jim Bennett Achievement Award is presented by the Kingston Branch at The Padre Laverty and Jim Bennett Achievement Awards Dinner which the Branch hosts annually in the spring.

The committee responsible for the selection of an award recipient whose service best emulates that of the late Jim Bennett, is chaired by the current Past President of the Kingston Branch and is comprised of past presidents and a representative from Queen’s Alumni Relations.

Nominators must be alumni of Queen’s University. The nominator for the successful submission will be called upon to introduce their nominee at the awards dinner, to be held at Queen’s, usually in the Spring.
