Janesville School Site Council Ballot 2019

We have THREE open positions on the Janesville School Site Council (SSC) for parents/guardians.

Two people have been nominated, and a third position is still vacant. Please vote and/or write in your choice of candidates. You may vote for all three or fewer than that if you wish. Please vote by Friday, November 1, 2019.

The School Site Souncil helps to develop the school budget, write/revise the school safety plan and write/revise the school handbook. The site council reviews student test data, results from the Healthy Kids Survey, and results from the parent/guardian and student surveys to help make decisions on those documents. The School Site Council has significant input into the school’s operations through direct contact with the superintendent/principal and advisory contact with the school board.

In the past couple of years, the site council’s input has been a major factor in hiring more staff for playground supervision and safety, upgrading the school’s network and technology, and setting up a reading and math intervention program.
 
The School Site Council meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 3:00 in the Janesville School library.
