Welcome!

Background: New York State has awarded $10 million to the City of Jamestown through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). This investment will build upon the nearly $10 million in State grants previously awarded to projects in Jamestown in Round 1 of the DRI program (2017). Jamestown DRI 2.0 continues that momentum, recognizing additional opportunities for redevelopment and expanding revitalization efforts. Funding will be used to undertake transformative public, private, and nonprofit projects that revitalize the City of Jamestown. An Open Call for Projects was held between August 21 and September 24, 2026, to receive proposals from project sponsors. The Local Planning Committee (LPC) is currently evaluating these proposals and looking for input from the public on each project submitted for funding consideration. The LPC will submit its final funding recommendations to New York State in February as part of a Strategic Investment Plan. Jamestown’s LPC is asking the public to help inform the process by completing this Project Feedback Form.

Instructions: Please review each of the 18 projects on the following pages and let us know what you think. The process should take approximately 25-30 minutes to complete. The order of the projects has been randomized for each respondent. Projects recommended for DRI funding will align with the Vision and Goals for the DRI area, help transform Jamestown, serve as a catalyst for additional investment, be ready to implement in the near-term, and have a high degree of public support, among other characteristics. Please consider these factors as you review each project.

DRI Vision: The vision for the City of Jamestown's DRI 2.0 is to advance "Core to Shore", extending downtown revitalization toward the Chadakoin River while creating a more unified downtown and riverfront that supports continued growth and opportunity.

Jamestown is a community rooted in resilience and energized by new possibilities. Its rich history hardworking-spirit, and strong sense of community provide a foundation for a future where residents, businesses, and visitors can thrive. Jamestown's unique blend of arts, culture, and natural beauty enriches daily life and strengths the City as a special place to live, work, visit, and invest. Building on this foundation, the "Core to Shore" vision creates a more seamless connection between Jamestown's historic downtown core and the Chadakoin River, uniting the City's residential, commercial, cultural, natural, and recreational assets. Through this vision, Jamestown can expand economic opportunity, enhance quality of life, and create a more active and prosperous downtown for all.

DRI Goals:
1. Grow the local economy and expand job opportunities
2. Expand and improve downtown housing
3. Reconnect downtown to the Chadakoin River
4. Create a clean, safe, and engaging downtown
5. Make it easy and safe to walk, bike, and drive downtown
6. Strengthen downtown's identity as a cultural destination
