Local Hazard Mitigation Plan - Public Survey

The Town of Colchester is in the process of updating its Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP), as required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The plan update is funded through a grant awarded from Vermont Emergency Management. A LHMP is a document that reviews a community’s risk for natural hazards and develops strategies and actions to reduce the impact of those hazards on life and property. The ultimate goal of the plan is to reduce or eliminate the long term risk to life and property from natural hazards.
