Presentation Overview and Instructions

The theme for this year’s MIHEN Conference is "What About The Other Drugs: The Impact of Cannabis, Tobacco, and Other Substances on College Campuses." This conference will delve into the specific impacts of cannabis, tobacco, and other drug use on students in higher education, addressing both the challenges and opportunities for recovery, prevention, and treatment. With the increasing prevalence of cannabis use on college campuses, professionals will explore its effects on student mental health, academic performance, and overall well-being. Additionally, the continued use of tobacco, particularly among college-aged students, presents unique health risks, including addiction and long-term physical health consequences. The conference will provide a comprehensive understanding of how these substances and many others affect students and highlight effective prevention strategies, treatment options, and support services tailored to the needs of students struggling with substance misuse. Discussions will also explore the role of harm reduction, the impact of tobacco and cannabis on campus culture, and the ways in which colleges can create healthier environments for their students.
