Leadership Raleigh Mission:
Provide a recognized source of leadership talent for the community and present opportunities for Raleigh Chamber members to meet and keep abreast of business and community issues. Over a ten-month period, participants receive an in-depth view of community issues, develop leadership skills necessary to assume leadership roles, and are exposed to community involvement opportunities.
 
Tuition:
Cost is $2,800 (*price subject to change) and includes all expenses for the orientation, two-day opening retreat, monthly program sessions, and graduation. A limited number of partial scholarships are available through our John Freehafer Scholarship Fund.
 
Scholarship Opportunities:
The Raleigh Chamber is committed to reflecting diversity in the Leadership Raleigh program. The key to our collective success and business strength is to cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment that reflects the full spectrum of leadership in our region.
 
The Leadership Raleigh Alumni Board created the John Freehafer Scholarship Fund for individuals who are employed by institutions that may be unable to provide full financial support. These organizations include nonprofits, small business professionals, and minority owned business.
 
A limited amount of financial assistance in form of a sponsorship are available. Candidates who need financial assistance are encouraged to contact Chauncey Bowden with questions and to obtain the application. This application needs to be submitted along with the LR application.
 
Selection Criteria:
Each Leadership Raleigh class is has a maximum of 50 participants per class. Selection is based upon the quality and depth of answers provided on the application. A successful candidate will demonstrate commitment and interest in our region.
 
A committee will review and score candidates’ applications to select for the program. Only one employee from a member company is selected to participate per Leadership Raleigh class.
 
All selected participants must be (or become) members of the Raleigh Chamber in order to participate. To become a Chamber member call 919.664.7000.
 
2022-2023 Class Dates

Two Leadership Raleigh classes take place each year. Please designate your preferred class. We will do our best to accommodate preferences given but no guarantees. Participants cannot transfer participation from one class to another after the program begins.
