Welcome

The Ozarks Science and Engineering Fair (OSEF) is a regional competition which brings together student scientists and engineers with outstanding research projects. It also serves as an excellent opportunity for students to experience working with local scientists and professionals. Participating students are from a 16 county region that includes Christian, Dallas, Douglas, Greene, Howell, Laclede, Oregon, Ozark, Polk, Pulaski, Shannon, Stone, Taney, Texas, Webster, and Wright counties.

The Ozarks Science and Engineering Fair will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 in Hammons Student Center on Missouri State University campus.  We welcome all persons that have a passion for science education and a desire to support science education for the students of Southwest Missouri to serve as judges.  The OSEF spans grades 6 - 8 (Junior Division) and 9-12 (Senior Division) in a competitive presentation of student science research projects.

Judges are asked to report to the west court of Hammons Student Center between 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM.  A light dinner will be provided and you will be paired with your fellow judges.  Judging interviews with the students will begin at 6:00 PM and last until 8:00 PM.  Judges are welcome to continue to review projects beyond 8:00 PM, however the students will be dismissed and will not be available for discussion.  Once your committee has completed their judging, determined award winners, and submitted results, judges are free to leave.  Most judges have completed their efforts by 9:00 PM.

Our Judges are invited to return to the fair on Thursday for the award ceremony, to participate in the excitement as students and teachers are recognized for their research efforts.  The Award Ceremony will be held in the main arena of Hammons Student Center on Thursday, March 26, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

The OSEF Steering committee would like to thank you in advance for your dedication to our students and their science education.
