The annual OLIO Orientation provides an opportunity for a diverse group of incoming law students to come together with each other, upper division Oregon law students, and the larger Oregon legal community for support, engagement around impactful issues, and skill building for success in law school and beyond. More information about the OLIO Orientation, and the students it serves, can be found at http://www.osbar.org/diversity/programs.html#olio

The OLIO Orientation would not be possible without members of the Oregon legal community investing their time and energy to mentor and support the students who attend, and to bring those students into an important dialogue around access to justice and efforts to educate and diversify the Oregon bench and bar.  As we plan for what will be the 21st annual OLIO Orientation, the Oregon State Bar Diversity & Inclusion Department and the bar's Advisory Committee on Diversity and Inclusion are initiating a call for presentations in order to provide an opportunity for a diverse segment of the legal community (and non-lawyers engaged in access to justice, equity and inclusion work) to offer their contributions.

The OLIO program is welcoming and inclusive of students and presenters from all backgrounds. We invite speakers to offer contributions to the program that reflect their own interests, experiences, and areas of expertise, while keeping in mind the intersectional nature of the program as a whole, and the desire to foster an inclusive space.

While we understand that some speakers will only be able to attend the portion of the weekend's programming when they will be presenting, we want to encourage speakers to attend other portions of the event in order to interact with and mentor the student attendees. To thank those who make that additional commitment of time and energy to the program, we are able to offer complementary meals and accommodations for the night at the Resort at the Mountain, where the OLIO Orientation will take place.

If you have an idea you would like to share, but don't have all of the details worked out, we welcome you to provide as much information as you have, so that we may be able to assist you in putting together the rest of the pieces.
