The objectives for this session were: 
At the completion of this presentation, the participant should be able to:
1. Identify the existing need for faculty in NP as well as other nursing programs
2. To identify the pros and cons of role transition from practice to academia
3. Identify challenges related to maintaining licensure and certification while serving in the academic role
4. Perform a self-assessment regarding readiness to teach if this is a professional desire
