The Federal Government's Child Care Subsidy was introduced on 1 July 2018. In late 2019, a number of legislative amendments were made to improve Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

And although the sector looks forward to those improvements, there is one major problem that still looms most front-of-mind for early childhood education and care service providers -- that is, chasing parents as CCS/ACCS debtors because the government can unilaterally retrieve CCS/ACCS amounts from services and give it to parents despite services already rendered.

The Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA)'s National Committee (which includes ACA NSW) is continually engaging with the Federal Government to address this specific issue that remains unresolved.

To aid in our advocacy, NSW-based services (regardless of ACA NSW membership) are being asked to share their experiences about CCS/ACCS-related debts they have incurred.

ACA NSW also continues to assist services who are experiencing difficulties with specific CCS/ACCS issues. You can read more via this link.
