Thank you for your interest in being an Intern for SYSO Summer Music! This is a great opportunity for you to continue your music education serving as an intern for our professional music faculty, as well as supporting SYSO Summer Music students grow as young musicians! As an intern, you must be committed to the philosophy of the camp, demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team, maintain flexibility, and exhibit initiative. You must demonstrate the highest level of musicianship. As a student-level musician, you must be open to direction, and eager to assist all faculty when requested to do so.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 15 years of age
Moved passed SYSO Summer Music in playing ability
Positive recommendation from musical references in leadership skills and playing ability (reference information requested in application)
Responsibilities:
Attend an Intern Training meeting as scheduled
Agree to possess a basic understanding of assigned Intern Chamber Ensemble literature before camp begins
Attend all student performances, and participate as a performer, if needed
Maintain an outstanding work ethic, as an example to student attendees
Participate and assist in SYSO Summer Music activities for students
Present in all Large Ensemble rehearsals, as designated by the Program Director or Site Coordinators.
Must be present 100% of the time during camp, including 30 minutes before and after camp each day.
