Some officer positions require you to be a professional member, sorry affiliates!

Anyone can serve on a committee, not just professional members!

Question Title

* 1. President:
  • Preside over all meetings of the chapter.
  • Prepare annual budget in hand with the treasurer and submit to nationals.
  • Act as signatory on funds.
  • Sign all legal documents.
  • Maintain the chapter archives (Google Drive!)
  • Ensure all reports & documents are completed with Nationals.
  • Attend annual board leadership training by Nationals.
  • Serve on a National Association Committee.
  • Serve a 1 year term.
  • Must be a professional member.

* 2. President-Elect:
  • Act as signatory on all accounts
  • Fill in for the president during absences
  • Replace the president at the end of year (this is a 2 year obligation)
  • Oversee and assist in the operations of the communications officer, programs officer and chapter of excellence officer
  • Ensure national required & chapter required reports are filed / available.
  • Attend annual national leadership training sessions
  • Must be a professional member.

* 3. Communications Officer:
  • Notify all chapter members of upcoming meetings & events.
  • Send out once a month updates to the chapter of future events, status of the chapter, info, etc.
  • We use to have a newsletter, you'd get to run that if you want to restart it!
  • Must serve a 1 year term.
  • Who can serve in this role? Everyone!

* 4. Communications Committee:
  • Assist the communications officer in their responsibilities.
  • Anyone can serve on this committee.
  • If you're interested in improving our mailing lists, online presentation, writing, etc, without committing to a full role, this is the slot for you!

* 5. Programs Officer:
  • Coordinate speakers & lecturers that are relevant to the industry & our chapter for chapter meetings & events as necessary.
  • Serve a 1 year term.
  • Must be a professional member of the chapter.

* 6. Programs Committee:
  • Assist the Programs Officer in finding speakers!
  • Think our panel of speakers in the past has been weak?  Not relevant?  Repetitive?  Don't want to commit to the full office position or worried about a time commitment?  This is the spot for you!
  • Can be filled by anyone!

* 7. Marketing Officer:
  • Coordinate & handle the recruitment / onboarding of new professional members to the chapter.
  • Process new member inquiries from the website and ensure member retention.
  • Coordinate & handle the recruitment / onboarding of new affiliates!
  • Serve a 1 year term.
  • Who can serve?  Anyone!

* 8. Marketing Committee:
  • The marketing officer is one of the best positions to assist.  You'll be apart of helping coordinate events for new member outreach, making sure they feel welcome, and helping our chapter grow.
  • Are you an affiliate?  Think we can provide a better benefit to our affiliate sponsors?  This is a great place to plug in and help out!

* 9. Treasurer:
  • Signatory on all chapter funds
  • Prepare annual budgets in hand with the President.
  • Send out annual dues invoices to chapter members & affiliates in November/December.
  • Prepare reports
  • File taxes (super quick!)
  • Serve a 1 year term
  • Must be a professional member.

* 10. Chapter of Excellence Officer:
  • Guide the chapter's events and record keeping by following the chapter of excellence checklist provided by Nationals.
  • Compile a report for nationals earlier in the year (march) to apply for the Chapter of Excellence Award.
  • After that, you spend the rest of the year advising the chapter on things necessary to achieve the award next year!
  • You serve a 1 year term.
  • Must be a professional member.
