SURVEY OVERVIEW

Policy advocacy covers a broad range of activities that include but are not limited to: research, issue education, community organizing, drafting legislation, providing testimony, evaluation of policy practice, implementation of policy and lobbying. Policy advocacy efforts seek to establish new policies, improve existing policies, and challenge the development of policies that diminish resources and opportunities for particular target groups. Advocacy efforts can be institutional, organizational, community, as well as legislative. Foundations may fund policy advocacy and/or conduct policy advocacy efforts themselves.
