Home-School Communications: Establishing The Swansfield Method

Our September CommUNITY Building Workshop resulted in a list of practices for Home-School communication. We would love your feedback! 

Question Title

* 1. Parents will email their children’s teachers in a timely manner when  they have a question or concern. In return, Teachers will respond in a timely manner, and always within 48 hours, of a message from a parent.

* 2. Parents will share with teachers any information that may impact a student’s day or indicate that a student may need “extra love” today.

* 3. Parents will share positive messages about teachers with teachers.

* 4. Parents will read Monday Folder contents and school emails.

* 5. Parents will be mindful of a teacher’s work hours and load.

* 6. Assume that school staff and parents are giving their best effort everyday to their children.

* 7. Teachers will be receptive to messages asking for “extra love.”

* 8. Teachers will share positive messages about the students with parents.

* 9. Teachers will complete grade level communication expectations.
