Dr. Yum's Preschool Food Adventure Home Version Survey

Dear Parent,

Dr. Yum's Preschool Food Adventure is a research-based curriculum designed by professionals including pediatricians, a feeding specialist, a registered dietitian and teachers. Monthly lessons are presented by a teacher in the classroom, introducing a fruit or vegetable. Children learn about how each food grows in nature, it's "Super Powers," how it helps their body, and how to appreciate it using all of their senses. Several suggested extension activities can be used to help kids become even more comfortable with the presented food. Finally kids are led through a cooking experience that reinforces key developmental skills while making a recipe with the featured ingredients.

With the current pandemic, we recognize that many families may choose to keep their children out of traditional school experiences, and may be looking for ways to enrich their children's learning at home.

For this reason we are considering adapting our curriculum for use in the home or by homeschool co-ops. Your input can help us to make that transition so that many more children can benefit from our curriculum.

Thanks for your helping our nonprofit organization to help families overcome barriers to eating well!

1.How interested would you be in a home version of Dr. Yum's Preschool Food Adventure?
2.We are considering offering the curriculum with lesson plans that parents would teach or another version in which a video lesson from a veteran preschool teacher is provided which parents and children would follow along. Which would you prefer?
3.Do you think $109 for this one-year subscription (including 12 monthly lessons, access to downloads and monthly expert tips on raising healthy eaters ) is too cheap, too expensive, or about right?
4.What price do you think would be appropriate for a year subscription?
5.As an add-on would you consider purchasing a kit that would include a set of 2 kid-safe dog knives, a set of 2 kids cutting boards, a copy of Dr. Yum and Coach Mel's book "Raising a Healthy, Happy Eater" and an EZPZ happy mat (to present tasting ingredients at Circle Time).
6.What price do you think would be appropriate for this type of add-on kit (given the total retail price for the items is $80)?
7.Would you be interested in a homeschool co-op version of this curriculum?
8.If you are interested in a co-op version, are there other features that would be helpful to include?
9.Although the school version of the curriculum is aimed at preschoolers age 3-5, it can also be enjoyed by school aged children as well. What are the ages of the children in your home that you would consider for this curriculum?
10.What are some of the reasons you would purchase this type of curriculum? (check all that apply)
11.Do you have any other suggestions on how we can adapt this curriculum for use in the home or for homeschool co-ops?
