Learning in Action: Using AI in Your Dental Practice

A Self-Study Activity

Thank you for your interest in learning more about using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in your practice.

AI is increasingly transforming dental practice, providing opportunities to improve patient care, streamline workflows and assist with clinical decision-making. At the same time, use of AI raises important questions about accountability, ethics, privacy and regulatory requirements.

This Learning in Action Toolkit guides you through a series of activities designed to reinforce your application of the principles included in the RCDSO’s guidance document Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry (Nov 2025).

AI is changing the way we work. By completing the activities below, you will learn more about how you can incorporate these new applications into practice in ways that are safe and reflect the ethical, privacy and regulatory considerations associated with the use of AI technologies.

There are five activities listed below.
For each that you complete, you will earn one (1) continuing education point in Category 2, for a total of up to five (5) points.

To obtain your certificate, you must answer the questions below and click SUBMIT.

We will review your submission and email your certificate within ten business days (two weeks). During times of high volume, there may be delays.

Once you have your certificate, you must enter your CE points into your e-Portfolio under Category 2, Self-Study Activity / e-Learning Program. You may choose to upload your certificate to the e-Portfolio or save it in your files.

Please email us at ce@rcdso.org with any questions. You will receive a response within two business days.
