The Burnsville Police Department, along with members of the community will be hosting a facilitated discussion:

What:     Building Together: Community Dialogue on Race
When:    Thursday, March 21 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Where:   Burnsville City Hall, 100 Civic Center Parkway
Cost:       FREE

Conversations about race can be tough – however, they can also have the power to educate, heal and ultimately transform. Members of the community are invited to a facilitated discussion that will explore issues related to race in our community in a safe, supportive environment. 

The conversation will start by hearing from community members as they share first-hand experiences about race and racism. In small group discussions, participants will explore issues of race and racism its impacts. Finally, the event will conclude by identifying actions that can be taken to create stronger, more resilient, welcoming communities. 

Guest speakers will include:

-Leaders of the Burnsville High School Black Student Union
-Leaders of the Burnsville Police Department
-Satya Balroop, Minnesota Hindu Milan Mandir (branch of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha)
