Ed Video Training and Development Grant Application

Ed Video is an inclusive and innovative educational centre that supports artists and diverse communities in all aspects of media arts.
Our vision as an access centre includes specific measures that address barriers to media artists from communities under-represented in both mainstream media and independent video production. These measures encompass both production and exhibition at the centre to address existing structures of racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, and elitism within the organization and the larger society.

Question Title

* 1. Name of Applicant (full legal name) and email address.

Bursaries are available for those only looking to take a single workshop or course. These bursaries can cover the full registration fee of the event, or offer a reduced fee (please indicate which you are asking for). Each educational event has a limited number of spots available through bursary, but generally this category is less competitive.
Equipment access is not included in this grant.

The Career and Skills Development grant is for those looking to take a number of workshops over the two month term of the grant. Only one grant in this category is available in each grant cycle, and so we strongly encourage only those who intend to take multiple workshops to apply through for this grant. A membership may be included in the grant if requested.
Equipment access for the purposes of creating a project is not included in this grant, but recipients may have limited access to equipment for the purposes of practicing what they have learned.

The Technique Research and Development grant is for those looking to access equipment for the purposes of testing out a particular technique. For example, a video artist may need to use equipment to develop their approach to achieving a particular image, or a cinematographer may need to practice with a piece of equipment before committing to a shot on the day of filming.
This access is for practice and development purposes only. If you need equipment for the actual creation of a project, please apply to one of our production grants.
