YouthCity Government (YCG) provides Salt Lake City’s High School students with a unique opportunity to positively impact their community. Founded in 1994, YCG provides students with critical thinking skills while emphasizing the importance of civic engagement. Through collaboration with elected officials, city administrators, and community leaders/stakeholders, students are trained to identify and address key issues facing the city and their community.
Important: YCG meets on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 4-5:30 pm during the school year. Students will have the option to attend either both days or one day (please coordinate with staff). Meetings will generally be held in the Salt Lake City & County Building located at 451 S State St, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. Attendance and participation are critical.
