Arborist Browntail Pruning Survey- 2021

Browntail moth populations continue to increase and expand inland in Maine. One of the most effective ways to control the spread is pruning and destroying the winter webs. Pruning is especially effective in areas away from the heaviest concentration of browntail and in sensitive locations along the coast or near organic farms. Consider offering your services to prune out the browntail moth webs in tall oaks and other trees or shrubs.

The Maine Forest Service uses the information from this survey to inform residents who contact us looking for an arborist who offers pruning services.
