Sheviock Parish Council - Views on Seasonal Dog Beach Ban Restrictions

Sheviock Parish Council Seasonal Dog Beach ban restrictions, feedback sought.

Cornwall Council will be reviewing, via Public Consultation, its PSPO Seasonal Dog Beach ban restrictions in September.
Sheviock Parish Council is therefore seeking the views of parishioners and visitors in advance of this, in order to respond to Cornwall Council, in respect of the seasonal dog beach ban restrictions - currently in place on Harbour and Hoodny beach (West Portwrinkle).
Currently the restrictions are: No dogs between 10am- 6pm, July 1st to August 31st inclusive.
Finnygook beach remains dog friendly 24/7, as under mixed land ownership.
Portwrinkle has the benefit of offering dog free and dog friendly options, plus it employs its own Enforcement Officer. In previous years the dog ban covered Hoodny beach and Harbour beach 24/7, from Easter Sunday to Sep 30th inclusive. However this was changed by Cornwall Council in 2023 as part of their County wide PSPO although was opposed by Sheviock Parish Council during the consultation process and at committee.
This review is to seek up to date opinion on the current restrictions.
1.Do you think the seasonal dog beach ban restrictions on Hoodny beach and Harbour from July 1st to August 31st 10am - 6pm should remain the same?
2.Do you think the seasonal dog beach ban restrictions should be extended to cover the period May 15th - September 30th 10am - 6pm, as per the blue flag and award beaches listed on Cornwall Council's current PSPO beach ban?
3.Do you live in the parish?
4.Do you live within a 10 mile radius of Portwrinkle (this includes Saltash, Liskeard, Plymouth)?
5.Do you have any additional comments or suggestions regarding the seasonal dog beach ban restrictions on Hoodny beach and Harbour?
6.Do you think the seasonal dog ban, covering the harbour and Hoodny beach should return to its original format of "No Dogs24/7 from Easter Sunday until September 30th inclusive.
