Project Overview
This program assembles one group in Maine and one group in New Hampshire, each of five experienced farmers, working to level up their tillage reduction practices. Each group will engage in facilitated peer learning and receive on-on-one technical assistance to improve their soil-building practices.
Each participating farmer commits to trying one new practice, and to utilizing input from peers and technical advisors to plan and implement the practice over two seasons. Each farmer receives a $5,000 award to support practice experimentation and implementation, and meets 3-4 times from January - March to seek input, share progress, and troubleshoot. Participating farmers also commit to host one field walk over the life of the project, and to attend two of their peers’ field walks.
