Help Shape the Finglas–North Wall Community Benefit Fund!
EirGrid is the state agency that develops, manages and operates Ireland’s electricity transmission grid. As part of its Powering Up Dublin programme, EirGrid is developing a new high-capacity underground electricity connection between Finglas and North Wall. The project route passes through or near Finglas, Glasnevin, Cabra, Phibsborough, Drumcondra, North Strand and North Wall. More information on the project is available on the Powering Up Dublin

EirGrid will be establishing the Finglas-North Wall Community Benefit Fund in recognition of the importance of working closely with communities in the completion of the new cable route construction project. The first round of funding is expected to open in early 2027. The Fund will provide grants to eligible community groups, not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises to deliver projects that create positive social and environmental impacts and leave a lasting legacy for local communities. Funding will be delivered in three phases across three funding streams:
- Community
- Sustainability
- Biodiversity
M-CO has been appointed by EirGrid as Fund Administrator. Before the Fund opens, we want to hear from local residents, community groups and organisations about the needs, priorities and opportunities within the area.
Your feedback will help shape how the Fund can make the greatest impact on the ground, including the priorities it should support, the types and scale of projects that could be funded, and the supports local organisations may need to develop and deliver projects.
The survey will be open during September and October 2026 and should take approximately 7 minutes to complete.
