This survey is only concerned with an assessment of courses taught either 1) fully online, or 2) hybrid/blended based on the following definitions:

Type of course Typical description
0% Traditional No online technology is used - contented delivered in writing or orally
1-29% Web-facilitated Uses web-based technology to facilitate a face-to-face course. May use a learning management system (LMS) or web pages to post the syllabus and assignments.
30-79% Bended/hybrid Blends online and face-to-face delivery. Substantial portion delivered online for discussions to reduce the # of face-to-face meetings.
80%+ Online Most or all of the content is delivered online. Typically has no face-to-face meetings.
