North Central Forest Draft Regional Master Plan - Public Input Survey

The NCF EL is located in northern Wisconsin and includes portions of Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Chippewa, Clark, Douglas, Florence, Forest, Iron, Langlade, Lincoln, Marinette, Oconto, Oneida, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, Vilas and Washburn counties. The region encompasses 17% of the state's total acres and 12% of the department's managed land.
DNR properties within the NCF EL include Fishery Areas, a State Forest, State Natural Areas, a State Park, a State Recreation Area, a Scenic Waters Area, Wildlife Areas, and numerous small parcels acquired through a variety of statewide acquisition authority programs. Some properties have previously approved NR 44-compliant plans which are being incorporated into, and updated as part of, the North Central Forest Draft Regional Master Plan.
We encourage you to complete this survey and provide your input on proposed resource management, public use, and real estate actions for the DNR properties in this region.
The survey provides the opportunity to comment on general topics and individual properties. You may comment on as many or as few properties as you wish. If you do not wish to comment on a portion of the survey, simply click on the option indicating no interest in commenting and you will be taken to the next section.
Please note that this survey is gathering input for DNR properties only. County and federal lands are not included in this plan or this survey. In addition, because of cooperative agreements, Chippewa Flowage, the Old Abe State Trail, Nicolet State Trail, and the Langlade County portion of the Wolf River State Trail are not included in this plan or survey.
This survey will first ask questions about three new proposed projects and two high-profile public recreation use changes the department is seeking public input on, followed by opportunity to provide input on program-wide management (management that applies to all properties within a management program, for example the wildlife or fisheries program), followed by opportunity to comment on individual properties, and lastly an opportunity to provide general comments.
