Glen Maye playground

Patrick Commissioners have asked me to perform a village/community survey in relation to a potential playground being installed in Glen Maye on the grass area between The Lhargan and Creggan Aashen.
Lots of people have expressed that the village and surrounding areas of Dalby and Patrick are missing a playground for the children, and I too believe that this would be a great addition and provide our children with somewhere they can learn fundamental physical, emotional and social skills.
Last month, I approached the Commissioners and enquired whether they could look into the idea of a park with a view to possibly submitting a planning application. They didn’t say no and have asked me to gather some information, including performing a survey, and if we could prove there was sufficient support for this, they would look at taking this forward.
I understand this has been talked about A LOT over the years but as far as I can see there is nothing documented about why this never gained traction.
This is hopefully the first of many steps to assessing the suitability and feasibility of a playground.
I look forward to receiving your responses.
Many Thanks
Chloe
