ETH124 Preparing for the Worst: Protecting Resources Before Disaster Strikes

The learning objectives for this session were:
1. Audience members will participate by being asked a series of questions related to planning for disasters and planning for disaster recovery as these relate to cultural properties.
2. Audience members will develop familiarity with tools that would help local governments be able to save historic buildings in the event of a natural disaster.
3. Audience members will learn programs and procedures to allow their local region to receive FEMA grants and assistance in case of disaster.
4. Audience members will understand how to create historic datasets using a variety of sources and how GIS can be used for historical analysis.
