Mareeba Shire Council is seeking feedback from residents on the designs for the new waste bins in Byrnes Street, Mareeba. The 45 proposed designs are available on Council's website, with the period for public comment to end at midnight on Sunday, 25 June 2023.

The proposed designs feature historical images of Mareeba's CBD on one side of the bin and a tourism or promotional image on the other side. The concept is to celebrate the history of the CBD and the modern attractions of the Shire.
