Introduction

Dear eLearning Community!

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced schools to move education online. Fortunately, online learning over the Internet (a.k.a. eLearning) allows schools to continue their education programs. Currently, there is little data about the network resources eLearning applications require to deliver a satisfactory student experience.

To better understand and optimize students’ eLearning experience, NetForecast is performing a study to measure the Internet resources that eLearning applications such as Zoom, Teams, Google, etc., demand while students are actively engaged in eLearning.

If you would like to participate in this three-month study, please complete the following survey. If you are selected, we will notify you by email, and will send you a special high-end router which will be yours to keep once the study is done.

Please note: Selection notifications should be sent early/mid January 2021. If selected, the new routers are expected to be shipped by the end of January 2021. Once received, the new router needs to be installed as soon as possible (within a week) and operational no later than mid February.

To participate in the study, you must:

   - have children attending school K-12 or be an active college student

   - install the special router that you must connect to your current router via an Ethernet cable

   - connect each student’s computer to the special router (either via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable)
for the entire duration of the school day for K-12 students, or during any college classes attended

   - agree to the NetForecast Participation Agreement (provided in the survey)

   - agree to answer emails sent from the eLearning project team

If you are selected, you must install the special router and connect your devices to the special router while learning online for the duration of the study. We will collect Internet utilization data from your participation.

At the end of the study, the new router will be yours to keep, and you will receive a $50 Amazon gift certificate (one per household).

Again, if you are interested and wish to take part, please fill out the questionnaire below.

Thank you for your interest in this important program!
