ACCYF Work Plan for the 2025-26 School Year |
In the spring of 2022, ACCYF held and participated in a retreat to revitalize the work of the organization. The retreat led to Community Action Discussion grants, where youth spoke openly about their community's needs. The report from the discussions can be found here.
Post-report, members of the community representing BOS District 3, Alameda Family Services, Early Childhood Learning Network, Alameda Recreation and Parks Department, and the then Community Development Department, took the youth-driven report and formed four committees to carry forward the work of ACCYF.
The four groups are:
- ACCYF Youth Advocacy Committee (YAC), focusing on supporting and advocating for marginalized populations;
- ACCYF Mental Health Committee, focusing on healthy relationships;
- ACCYF Safety Committee, focusing on gun safety and food insecurity, and;
- ACCYF Website Committee, focusing on developing a newsletter and building content.
Each is led by a community member dedicated to escalating youth voices and supporting their ideas for change.
