What is this about?
Endometriosis is not rare – about 1 in 10 women of reproductive age is affected. Many of you know how much endometriosis (and adenomyosis) can affect daily life, both physically and emotionally. Treatment has improved in recent years, but there is still more work to do. One area where little research has been conducted and no clear international recommendations exist is follow-up care: the support and check-ups patients receive during and after treatment, including long-term care.
This survey wants to change that.
We want to understand how patients are doing after treatment (e.g., following short-term medical therapies or surgeries), as well as during long-term treatment;
- How would you describe the quality of the follow-up care provided?
- Who is responsible for your follow-up care, and in what way?
- Do you see any areas for improvement, and what types of support do you feel are lacking?
Who are we?
We are an international team of researchers, doctors, and patient advocates. Our project is based at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University Hospital Zurich and includes two Doctoral thesis projects. Our goal is to find gaps in follow-up care for endometriosis and adenomyosis patients around the world – and to help create better, evidence-based care in the future.
We created this questionnaire ourselves in collaboration with women affected by endometriosis. In addition, we have included selected questions from the World Endometriosis Research Foundation’s EPHect Patient Questionnaire (EPQ).
Now we want to hear from you. Your feedback is very valuable and can help improve future care!
