Everyone has a characteristic set of strengths and virtues, that is, things that they are “good” or “strong” on. Research in Positive Psychology suggests that there are (at least) 24 strengths and virtues that are recognized in most cultures. We are going to try to find out your personal strengths.
On the next page you will find a short version of a much longer personality measure developed by Christopher Peterson and Martin Seligman, with support from the Values in Action Institute. Their descriptions of the 24 strengths were modified slightly by Jonathan Haidt for use in this shorter form.
