Lake County, Ohio has received $1,631,830 in funding for homeless and housing services through a section of the American Rescue Plan Act – HOME-ARP. The County is soliciting public input to determine needs, gaps in services, and ascertain the level of support for the types of eligible activities. Funds may be used in these following types of programs and services:
• Non-congregate Emergency shelter (not dorm style)
• Rental assistance for families and individuals
• Construction of affordable rental housing
• Housing-related Services (case management, counseling, etc. – see HUD CPD Notice 21-10

In addition, communities must focus on which populations to serve with this funding.
• People who are already experiencing homelessness (for example, sleeping in a shelter or outdoors)
• People who are at risk of homelessness (e.g. facing eviction)
• Households that are homeless because they are fleeing or trying to flee domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking
• Other populations with high risk of housing instability (refer to HUD Notice CPD21-10 (IV. A. 4 (1) (2) (i-ii A-G)
Note: Veterans and Families that include a Veteran Family Member that meet the criteria for one of the qualifying populations described above are eligible to receive HOME-ARP assistance.
