Lake County, Ohio has received $1,631,830 in funding for homeless and housing services through a section of the American Rescue Plan Act – HOME-ARP.   The County is soliciting public input to determine needs, gaps in services, and ascertain the level of support for the types of eligible activities.  Refer to HUD CPD Notice 21-10.  https://www.hudexchange.info/programs/home-arp/
 
Funds may be used in these following types of programs and services:
• Non-congregate Emergency shelter (not dorm style)
• Rental assistance for families and individuals
• Construction of affordable rental housing
• Housing-related Services (case management, counseling, etc. – see HUD CPD Notice 21-10
 
In addition, communities must focus on which populations to serve with this funding.
• People who are already experiencing homelessness (for example, sleeping in a shelter or outdoors)
• People who are at risk of homelessness (e.g. facing eviction)
• Households that are homeless because they are fleeing or trying to flee domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking
• Other populations with high risk of housing instability (refer to HUD Notice CPD21-10 (IV. A. 4 (1) (2) (i-ii A-G)
 
Note:  Veterans and Families that include a Veteran Family Member that meet the criteria for one of the qualifying populations described above are eligible to receive HOME-ARP assistance.
