Some Houghton Valley locals and Kaicycle are working to set up a compost hub in Houghton Valley, on the lower field near the school. People can subscribe to divert their food scraps from landfill and help create a compost resource for community use. We'd love to hear your thoughts on the proposal.

The Kaicycle model is "community-supported composting". Locals can subscribe to the compost hub, paying a monthly amount to drop off their food scraps. This covers Kaicycle's costs, including paying the compost manager a living wage. This ensures the compost is managed to a high standard to avoid predator and smell problems, and create great living compost as a community resource.
