Application to Participate

The Center on Victimization and Safety at the Vera Institute of Justice know you are working hard to support rape crisis centers, domestic violence programs, and other vital systems of support to adapt and sustain services for survivors during this rapidly unfolding health crisis. The virtual meetings you are hosting are invaluable. They provide space for OVW-funded programs to come together and tap into our collective strength and resilience. They also offer critical information, guidance, and answers to grantees most pressing questions.

To help support this amazing work and to ensure Deaf advocates across the country can participate, we are launching a national, remote sign language interpreting bank for OVW-funded interpreters. Through this bank, we are offering OVW-funded training and technical assistance providers free sign language interpretation services, provided by qualified, healing-informed interpreters, for virtual meetings/trainings related to COVID-19. By providing this support, we hope to remove a significant barrier to Deaf advocates accessing peer support and best practice guidance during this crucial time.
