Thank you for your interest in participating in our November 2026 art show, Indigenous Wisconsin: Beyond Acknowledgment. The show will be open November 9th - December 11th, 2026. Artwork will be collected at the end of October.
About the show:
In 2024, we issued a call to Native artists to share work exploring Indigenous Resistance. The response was incredible. The artists, stories, and artwork that came together created something truly powerful. This year, we’re inviting Native artists to explore a new theme: Indigenous Wisconsin: Beyond Acknowledgment. You’ve heard of a land acknowledgment before. A person or an institution will acknowledge the land that we stand upon...but what does that actually mean? What comes next? A land acknowledgment is a doorway. Indigenous Wisconsin: Beyond Acknowledgment invites us through it.
This exhibition brings together Indigenous artists whose work is rooted in reciprocal relationships with the lands and waters of Wisconsin; relationships expressed through material, memory, language, story, and practice.
