Higher Education is one of the important elements in the process of developing a strategic partnership between the two knowledge economies namely India and United States of America. The Indo-US Higher Education Dialogue (2011-14) has laid out the road map for promoting strategic institutional partnerships. India is learning from the U.S. experience in community colleges and has agreed to collaborate with U.S. institutions in the area of Technology Enabled Learning and Massive Open On-line Courses (MOOCs) to extend the reach of education in India. A good number of fellowships, student and faculty exchange programs, research collaborations etc. have enhanced the opportunities for bilateral cooperation between these countries in the field of higher education and there is a need to strengthen this process in the coming years.
