Imun 2022 Application

Imun 2022 is an updated version of the popular Imun program that USCJ organized in the 1990s and early 2000s.  In 2020, we reimagined the program to better meet the current needs of today’s leaders and to take advantage of technology that is now available.

Imun is a collaborative program of USCJ, the Rabbinical Assembly, and the Cantors Assembly, whose purpose is to empower lay leaders of small congregations, in particular those with limited or no clergy support, to fill certain ritual roles such as leading a Shabbat or weekday service, running a shiva minyan, visiting the sick, or officiating at a life cycle event.

Imun 2022 will be a completely virtual program, taking place over several days on Zoom.

The program has 2 parts:
·       A mandatory webinar the evening of June 9th to get to know one another and begin the learning
·       A week-long immersive program in July on Zoom

When?
Imun 2021 is scheduled for Monday, July 11th through Sunday, July 17th.  We will be together on Zoom each day for about 4 hours beginning at 11am Eastern time.  There will also be a 2 hour social program on Thursday evening.  We will not meet over Shabbat.

Who Is Eligible to Attend?
Any member of a small USCJ affiliated congregation (up to 200 member units), who is recommended by that congregation’s rabbi or president, and is able to read Hebrew, is eligible to attend. Preference will be given to members of congregations with limited or no clergy support.

What is the Cost of Participation?
Cost of participation is $325 per person.  It is our hope that your congregation will cover at least a portion of this cost.
