Program Description
Dear Applicant,
Congratulations! You have taken the first step toward becoming an IT Beginnings participant. By completing this application, you are expressing your interest in working toward a career in IT.
The IT Beginnings is a new initiative to provide young adults the chance to improve their IT skills, learn about careers in IT, and develop their resume and job seeking skills. IT Beginnings: A Raleigh Tech Hire Initiative is a partnership with the City of Raleigh, Capital Area Workforce Development Board, Wake Technical Community College and area businesses. Each partner brings their strengths to help young people become prepared for a career in IT.
Many people will apply for the program, so make sure that your application stands out. Please answer all questions completely. If you have any questions, call or email the contact person on the application. We will not review incomplete applications.
Based on the applications we receive, a group of candidates will be chosen and invited to an interview. For your interview you will want to arrive prepared, energized, and on time. After the interviews, we will select our first class.

Program Details:
- Open to applicants between 18 and 24 years old
- Participants must have a high school diploma or equivalency (such as a GED)
- Participants must be unemployed or under employed
- Priority is given to low-income residents
- Space is limited to 15 students
- Participants must live in Wake County
- Classes take place three times a week with occasional business tours at other times
